Did you ever accidentally leave your crayons out in the heat?  I did as a child and was surprised and amazed how the colors ran together to make new colors and textures. My hope with this business is to bring together different products from various small businesses to create unique shopping opportunity for you.  Thus the name: The Melted Crayon. 

Style & Quality

I have been in the business of kids for 20 plus years. I am a teacher by day and a creator by night. The spring my last two children were preparing to graduate from high school, I found myself dreading the empty house that was coming. That is when I decided it was time for me to start my own new chapter. I started this business by combining my two passions of children & sewing. I’ve always loved sewing - thanks to the influence of my great Aunt Dorothy and the encouragement of my mom. I started out just simply sewing kid’s aprons, bags and blankets and selling them at vendor shows. Then I invested in a commercial embroidery sewing machine and started packaging and selling my products to retail stores. Soon I started dreaming of having my own storefront, but wondered how I would possibly fill it with inventory. Then one night in bed it dawned on me. Why not find other small business entrepreneurs to see if they might want to help me fill my store? And as the saying goes —the rest is history. I will soon be closing in on my 2nd year of business and pride myself on filling the store with unique and quality products! I have items from many North Dakota companies as well as many other small businesses from around the US and world. You can find everything from beer bread and soup mixes to clothing and home decor items. If you are looking for a gift for a special occasion or someone special in your life, we can help you out!
